About Octolytics
Octolytics is the intelligence layer of the telecom industry. Our platform, OCTOCX, gives carriers of every size visibility across three layers at once: the network, the device, and the customer experience. We work with national operators, regional carriers, and MVNOs across Latin America and beyond.
We are a small team closing large deals with large operators. The distance between strategy and execution here is measured in days, not quarters.
The Role
You will work directly with the COO as a force multiplier across the entire business. This is not an administrative role. It is an operating role for someone who wants a front-row seat to how a B2B telecom platform company is built, and who wants their hands on the wheel while learning it.
The mandate has three parts:
- Executive leverage. You extend the COO's reach. You prepare him for negotiations, board conversations, and client meetings. You draft the document, build the model, and pressure-test the argument before it leaves the building. You follow up on every open thread so nothing drops.
- Operations and special projects. You own the problems that don't have an owner yet. One month that is restructuring a vendor contract. The next it is standing up a pricing analysis for a carrier deal, coordinating a platform pilot, or fixing a broken internal process. You take fuzzy, cross-functional problems and drive them to done.
- Strategy and planning. You run the operating cadence: quarterly planning, OKR tracking, leadership meeting agendas and follow-through. You turn scattered discussions into decisions, and decisions into written plans the team actually executes.
What You'll Do
- Prepare briefing documents, financial models, and negotiation materials for carrier deals and vendor contracts.
- Drive special projects end to end: scope the problem, build the plan, coordinate the people, deliver the result.
- Run the company's planning and review cadence, from agenda to minutes to accountability.
- Analyze commercial, financial, and product data to support executive decisions.
- Draft high-stakes communications in English and Spanish: client correspondence, internal announcements, board materials.
- Sit in on negotiations, pilots, and client escalations, and own the follow-up.
- Identify operational gaps before they become fires, and close them.
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 6 years of experience in consulting, banking, startup operations, or a founder or GM track role.
- Full professional fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken. You will negotiate in one and report in the other, sometimes on the same call.
- Strong analytical range: comfortable building a financial model in the morning and rewriting a legal-adjacent letter in the afternoon.
- Excellent structured writing. Your documents create clarity, not length.
- High ownership and discretion. You will see contracts, compensation, and deal terms before anyone else does.
- Comfort with ambiguity. Most of your projects will start as a two-sentence problem statement.
- Based in Mexico City or willing to relocate.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to telecom, SaaS, or enterprise software.
- Experience supporting a C-level executive or founder directly.
- Familiarity with contract review, vendor negotiation, or commercial legal processes.
- Working knowledge of SQL, spreadsheet modeling, or BI tools.
What This Role Is Not
- A path to being a permanent assistant. Strong Chiefs of Staff here graduate into ownership of a function within 18 to 24 months.
- A pure strategy job. You will spend real time in the details of execution.
- A 9-to-6 with a fixed lane. The lane changes weekly.
Why This Role
You will see every part of the business: carrier negotiations, product decisions, financial planning, legal disputes, hiring. Few roles compress that much learning into a single seat. If you want to eventually run operations, a P&L, or your own company, this is the apprenticeship for it.
Send your CV and a short note (10 sentences maximum) describing the most ambiguous problem you have taken from zero to done — English or Spanish, your choice — to [email protected].
